When you land, we pick you up at the airport, and take you directly to your hotel. You have a free day to get to know your group and get settled. In the evening we go out on the infamous Khao San Road for drinks.
See the capital by the water as we travel by longtail boat along the Chao Phraya River, you’ll explore Bangkok and experience some of Thailand’s heritage. We visit two prestigious temples – Wat Arun and Wat Pho, to see the very impressive giant, gold reclining Buddha statue. The rest of the day is free for exploring, you may want to try some of the famous shopping in Bangkok as its known for being notoriously cheap. Remember to always try and barter with the street vendors, you can sometimes get as much as 50% off the original price! Then in the evening we meet again for dinner, drinks and more group bonding.
Try a traditional Thai massage before we travel overnight on the train down south, and swap the hustle and bustle of Bangkok for the tranquil lakes of Khao Sok National Park – situated in the Surat Thani province of Thailand. You’ll get your very own berth on the train, and it’s a great place to get to know the rest of your group. Watching the scenery change through your window is definitely something you won’t forget quickly.
Head to our floating bungalows on a longtail boat whilst stopping along the way for a quick dip and dive. Try your hand at some kayaking or chill with a beer in a tube in front of the stunning backdrop of this limestone mountain range. We’ll be staying in floating bungalows on a fresh-water lake surrounded by rainforest which looks like something out of Jurassic Park!
Wake up early on the lake and enjoy a spot of breakfast before we head to Koh Phangan. When we arrive we go straight to a secluded paradise beach, Bottle Beach. Our favourite beach in the world. It is quiet, amazingly beautiful, only accessible by boat and to make it better, we pretty much get the whole place to ourselves and stay in beach huts overlooking the ocean. Relax here for the rest of the afternoon, enjoy a bit of volleyball, sunbathing or swimming. In the evening we can enjoy dinner and some cocktails on the beach next to a camp fire with our own private fire show.
A nice chilled wake up to the sound of waves rolling on the beach. You will have a free morning to make the most of your surroundings. You can go kayaking, play volleyball, top up the tan, go trekking to view points or catch up on some sleep. We are picked up early afternoon and taken to a local gym to try your hand at a bit of Muay Thai boxing, Thailand’s national sport. After we head to our awesome accommodation at Echo Beach backpackers where we will spend the final two nights. We will arrange a time to meet for dinner and jump in a taxi to Haad Rinn where you will discover more beach bars for those who fancy a few drinks.
Today we embark on a voyage around Koh Phangan. We spend the day taking in the amazing tropical island scenery, stop for some snorkelling at the coolest hotspots and visit Than Sadet waterfall (seasonal). You might think it couldn’t get any better but it does, we have free drinks and food throughout the day with music.
Ride around Koh Phangan on ATVs checking out some of the Island’s hidden gems. In the evening we will head up the hill to probably the best place you will ever watch the sunset from. It’s a very very cool bar with music, cocktails, beer, viewing deck with swimming pool which we will certainly make the most of as we watch the sun go down. Life doesn’t really get much better…
As if you haven’t had enough water fun already, on day 9 we take you to the notorious Slip N Fly, recently voted in the top ten water slides in the world, this is not for the faint hearted. A massive slide that sends people up to 30 foot into the plunge pool below, what a rush. Don’t worry if you are not a big fan of heights or water slides. This place has much more to offer. It’s actually a day party with DJ’s, games, a volley ball pool, bar, looooooads of sunbeds and chill out areas and of course the constant entertainment of watching other backpackers throw themselves down the slides.
Tonight is the night you get the full Half Moon Party Experience. We leave the day free for you to charge your batteries & prepare for the party. Top up your tan on the beach and grab some half moon attire and some UV body paint. Pre parties start from 7.30pm at the hostel and we head on down to the main jungle venue of the Half Moon party. You may or may not have heard of this place, there have been rumours flying around for many years that the Half Moon is as good, if not better than the Full Moon Party… Well, that is still being debated and is a matter of opinion, whether it is or not however, it is certainly an awesome party at a very cool venue in the jungle with two music stages, lots of entertainment, people and buckets.
Depending on what time you stumble in from the party you will probably need some of today to sleep and recover so the only planned activity today is a nice Thai massage and possibly a film at a local bar. Unless you are one of those crazy party animals that decided to join us at the after party!
Today unfortunately the your experience with us must come to an end. Not to fear though, we are still on hand to help you with whatever you want to do next. If you can’t quite get enough of Phangan and the hostel you can extend your stay, or we can help you book transport elsewhere in Thailand or S.E. Asia if you have time to carry on exploring or if you need to get back to Bangkok for a flight.
