Wander over to Market 28, Plaza Las Americas, and Puerto Cancún to browse dozens of Mexican clothing boutiques and accessory stalls. In the evening, It’s time for our welcome dinner where you can get to know your new travel friends aka TruFam, over dinner and a few Cervezas by the pool or on the beach. Salud!

After a long flight and a night on the town getting to know your group a bit better, you probably could do with a bit of R&R, and we couldn’t think of anywhere better than the Island of Holbox for that. A real piece of paradise, seriously beautiful beaches, no cars, loads of funky beach bars with live music and zero stress or troubles insight. Isla Holbox is home to tropical marine life, so make sure you jump in and explore! Although, if you fancy something a little more chill then how do sea hammocks sound? Dreamy right, we told you it was paradise! If you need us, you’ll find us in the hammocks! Just hanging out, ya know (see what we did there). Spend your day relaxing and chillaxing getting ready for the next day as our Yucatan adventure continues tomorrow!

Enjoy a lie-in before we jump onto a boat to explore 3 UNREAL locations, just you wait. First up is Bird Island, which is home to many beautiful birds that you will only find here! Next up is ‘’Eye Of The Water’’ cenote, a large natural pool with freshwater springs in the middle of mangroves, sounds like something straight out of a movie, but it’s real! The bright turquoise pool is located just a few metres away from the sea, so make sure your cameras are all charged as you won’t want to miss this very rare sight! Last but definitely not least, we’re off to Passion Island which is home to flocks of PINK FLAMINGOS! This is truly an amazing experience, to be able to see these wonderful birds in their natural habitat! And hey, now is a good time for us to remind you to be a flamingo in a flock of pigeons, TruFam! Next, it’s time to hop back onto our boat, enjoy a few beers if you fancy it (or drink of choice, you do you boo) and hopefully catch a stunning sunset! And if we’re even luckier we might see the bioluminescence in the ocean after dark, some immaculate vibes, let us tell you!

Today is the day! We are off to one of the seven wonders of the world, The Mayan Site of Chichen Itza, a must-see when in Mexico (duh!). We will leave Holbox early to set off to the wondrous monument! Once we arrive, we’ll have a guided tour to learn about the fascinating history of the site and of the Mayan civilisation. Trust us, you won’t forget this moment! After marvelling at the site and ticking it off our bucket list, one of the seven wonders done, it’s time to head to Cenote Yokdzonot. Have a dip in the stunning turquoise water, go on, you know you want to, you are at one of Yucatan’s most incredible natural swimming pools after all! Once we’ve had an afternoon splashing about, floating on our backs and looking up to an unreal view, or just chilling and admiring the cenote, it’s, unfortunately, time to leave. Sigh. But fear not, more good times are pending as we head off to Merida and arrive in the early evening. We’ll go on an orientation walk around the city to see all the spectacular sights. Welcome to Merida!

Today we venture slightly outside of Merida, and we will be cycling between three stunning cenotes, with a spot of lunch along the way of course! After we’ve spent our day chilling and swimming in the Cenotes, we’ll head back to Merida to chill out for a few hours, before it’s time to get ready for our evening! Cycling shoes off, dancing shoes ON! Prepare to get those taste buds tingling as we head out to sample some delicious local food, or what we like to call, the ultimate Mexican feast! Tacos & burritos galore! So you are in Mexico (which you already know) but you can’t come to Mexico and not go tequila tasting. Which is why our next activity for the evening is just that! Well, it’s tequila and mescal tasting to be exact. Tequila is also the national liquor of Mexico! You know what they say when life gives you lemons.. Shot tequila! After we’re all tequila’d out, it’s time to put our salsa dancing skills to the test at one of the many bars with live music Merida has to offer. Told you we would need our dancing shoes!

In the evening we’ll find a lovely spot by the water to watch the sunset *cue oooh’s and aaah’s* with a few beers (optional of course). 10/10 end to the day we’d say!

Why it is 7 colours or how is it 7 colours you ask? Well, we’re no scientist’s, but we do know that it’s because the clear waters and white sandy bottom of the lagoon cause different shades of turquoise, blue and deep indigo to appear. But we can just pretend it’s magic because you’ve got to see it to believe just how amazing it is. Throughout the day we’ll stop at several places along the way to cool off, get those photos for the ‘gram and of course, we can’t be going hungry, so we’ll stop off for some lunch as well! Yucatan Tour
I did the Yucatán tour in June, it was really good but the absolute highlight was our tour guide Eve, she was lovely and friendly as well as incredibly organised and professional, she made the whole experience so smooth and fun! My highlights were definitely visiting the cenotes and Bacalar!

Luis’ Mexico group is the best!!
I went on a TruTravels to the Yucatan peninsula with Luis Mirazo and had such an amazing time!! He’s the best tour guide I’ve ever had and I can confidently say we’ve remained since. We were lucky to have such a great group of 18 people who all adored each other and couldn’t bear to leave each other at the end. We all ended up staying at an Airbnb in Mexico together for a few days after the tour ended - a few of us cancelled/rebooked our flights to do so. Luis made sure everyone felt included and gave us much-needed energy when we were tired. He also took great care of us when one of our tour members got really sick. Thanks Luis!! ❤️

Awesome Yucatan Experience
I did the Yucatan Experience, Mexico in March 2024. The tour was great. It was a perfect mix of activities, sightseeing and time for the group. The schedule and organization went smoothly. Especially the tour guide Evelyn was incredibly great. She was so full of positive energy. Although we had 4 group members who did not want to integrate into the group (2 of them even Tourradar employees), she handled this difficult situation great. I miss her cheerful nature!

Mexico🇲🇽
I have just completed the 11 day Yucatán tour with TruTravels, during which I met a great group of people and had the pleasure of having Eve as our ninja. The trip was planned very well, ensuring we had an equal balance of exciting adventurous activities planned and enough time to relax and unwind. At no point did I feel that any of the activities were rushed or dragged on for too long. A particular highlight for me was the lagoon boat trip in Bacalar; the experience was incredible and truly one that I will cherish forever. Well, what can I say - Eve was a fantastic tour leader from beginning to end! Before the trip, she did a brilliant job of informing the group of key information as well as providing tips that would help us on our trip. For those of us, who were new to travelling and/or were solo, she is put us at ease and made sure that we were included at all times. All of us in the group asked copious amounts of questions daily, which she answered in depth and without hesitation, no matter how silly or unimportant it may have seemed. She laughed with us, encouraged us to party, took us to CocoBongo and made it a truly special trip. Additionally, her broad knowledge about the destinations, tequila & mescal and the denotes (which we all loved) was brilliant and it was clear that she really knows her stuff. She could not have done more for us! Also, one of our drivers Pepe, was amazing too. He joined in with the jokes and made the journeys super enjoyable, despite some being a little lengthy. Thank you for such an outstanding trip and for helping us all to create such treasured memories!!!

Mexico Yucatán - An Incredible Trip Thanks to Our Ninja Guide, Luis Mirazo
An Incredible Trip Thanks to Our Ninja Guide, Luis Mirazo Our recent trip to Mexico was beyond anything we could have imagined, and a huge part of that was thanks to Luis Mirazo, our guide. From the get-go, Luis brought energy and enthusiasm that set the tone for the entire journey. He wasn’t just a guide; he was like a friend showing us the best of his country. Luis took us to places we never would have found on our own and shared insights that only someone deeply connected to the culture could provide. He has a real knack for making you feel like you’re part of something special. Whether we were exploring vibrant markets, tasting incredible local food, or visiting stunning historic sites, Luis made every moment feel unique and personal. What really stood out was how Luis embodied the true Mexican spirit. He has this amazing way of sharing his love for Mexico that’s totally infectious. We didn’t just see the sights; we experienced the heart and soul of the country, thanks to him. If you’re planning a trip to Mexico and want to truly experience the best of what the country has to offer, do yourself a favor and ask for Luis Mirazo. He made our trip unforgettable, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide.

Yucatan Experience with Eve the best tour guide
I did the Yucatan Experience in April, It was a trip of a lifetime. I had the most amazing time, I would highly recommend. Eve our tour guide made the trip really special, she is amazing at her job. She is so kind, fun, knowledgeable and I could not have asked for a better tour guide. Thank you Eve ❤️

This was one of the best trips of my life! We did the Mexico yucaťan experience in April. Eve was our tour guide and we really couldn’t have asked for a better person! It was my birthday on the trip and i never mentioned it but she made sure it was celebrated and I felt very special on my birthday - thank you Evelyn. She was very knowledgable (around food, culture, history the list could go on) and made sure we had fun! ❤️ every single accommodation was lovely, stylish and comfy able. We went places I wouldn’t have thought have going alone. My fave places were isla holbox and bacalar. I’m 100% going to be booking my next trip with Tru travels soon :)

Fantastic Mexico Trip with Eve
I have just been on the 11 day Yucatán Experience TruTravels Mexico tour with Eve (the best tour guide ever) and it is fantastic!! A mix of locations and diverse activities. There was a good mix between relaxing, sightseeing and going out! The places we stayed were to a high standard and all had AC to cool us down! The pools at most hotels were also great. Highlights included the boat trip on the seven colour lagoon, the tour of Chichen Itza and the swimming in cenote tours! I’d never heard of a cenote before and now I love them and feel like an expert! We went to a good mix of restaurants and bars and were certainly always full. What can I say about our tour guide, Eve…she is FANTASTIC!!! I have done 5 tours with TruTravels and she is certainly up there with being the best. She shared so much information in advance so that we could easily locate our pickup and knew what to do in Cancun on my pre day. She gave us a detailed introduction talk and made she that she got to know each and every one of us. During the trip, she was full of energy and always made she that we were smiling and really felt like she was one of the group (a fellow traveller and friend). She answered all our questions about places and made sure that we knew about the history, culture and environment. She is very knowledgeable and has allowed me to learn lots about Mexico. She shared detailed lists of things we were doing and needed each day and always had time for the 100 questions we asked. She translated menus for us, she helped us learn the needed Spanish and she talked to locals whenever we were having a language barrier. The number of times you heard one of us say “I need Mummy Eve!!” She picked good locations for food and this benefitted us as there was a mix of food for all people. She listened to our feedback and made changes accordingly when it came to pickup times etc. She made the trip so amazing and I am very thankful! You are one of a kind Eve! Would highly recommend this trip and Eve as a tour guide!

I had a lovely time on my Trutravels trip. We saw great places, had good accommodations and the people really made the experience! Not only did I really enjoy time with my group mates, I also really appreciated my tour leader. Overall I would recommend Trutravels to everyone; especially people who are (like I was) new to travelling :)

What visa do I need for Mexico?

Depending on where you're travelling from it's likely that you won't need a visa to enter Mexico. You may need to complete an immigration form and have this with you when you enter and leave Mexico. Please note this is guidance only and is subject to change. Make sure to check visa requirements before you travel.

Do many TruTravellers travel alone?

Yes, the majority of our travellers will be travelling on their own! Roughly 65% of our TruTravellers come solo! We have designed our trips specifically with solo travellers in mind, so you can be assured you’ll meet lots of others travelling alone like yourself along the way. This of course doesn’t mean our trips are only for solo travellers, but it does mean that you don’t need to worry you’ll be surrounded by a group that already knows each other.
