Day 1-3: RIO DE JANEIRO - The PERFECT place to start!
Touch down in Rio and prepare to fall in love. This city is at the top of so many people's bucket lists, and it's not hard to see why! This city’s got it all: jungle-covered hills, world-famous beaches, epic viewpoints, and an unbeatable party scene. From the moment you arrive, the rhythms of the city will embrace you and you'll never want to leave (warning: coming to Brazil will mean you compare EVERYWHERE else to it, visit at your own risk...) On our 9 day Brazil Experience adventure, we'll tick off the must-see icons early on, with a trip up to Christ the Redeemer for insane views over the city, followed by a cable-car ride up Sugarloaf Mountain. Get your cameras at the ready people!
We'll also wander through the vibrant streets of Lapa and Santa Teresa, stumble across the colourful Selarón Steps, and of course visit Copacabana Beach (any Barry Manilow fans?) Oh and the nights are just as epic too. Whether it’s live samba echoing through the streets or sipping caipirinhas in a buzzing bar, Rio's energy is non-stop, and it's the perfect place to start your 9-day TruTravels Brazil Experience.
Day 4 - 5: ILHA GRANDE - Pure Blissss
Just a few hours south of Rio, things get very tropical and a lot more chilled! Ilha Grande is car-free, stress-free, and surrounded by crystal-clear waters, and beach bars that’ll keep you dancing barefoot ‘til dawn. Now we're out of the city, this is your time to slow things down. Here we'll spend our time kayaking/paddleboarding through jungle-lined waters, and we'll also head over to Lopes Mendes, one of the most stunning beaches in Brazil. Ilha Grande is all about switching off and soaking up the good life - we did tell you you'd be living the dreammm on this trip!
Day 6 - 7: PARATY - The perfect mix of old and new!
Next up is Paraty, this "postcard-perfect" town will take you by surprise. A lot of people haven't heard of this spot, but luckily for you, you have us to tell you where to go and what to see. With cute cobbled streets and loads of history, our days here are filled with island-hopping boat trips, cachaca tasting and of course a walking tour to mix in some culture too! Evenings in Paraty are for live music (of courseee) and sharing travel stories over a round of Brazil’s finest cocktails - caipirinha anyone?
Day 8 - 9: SÃO PAULO - The bright light are calling!
Our final stop on this 9-day adventure is São Paulo, Brazil’s biggest city and a BIG contrast to the beachy, jungle vibe you’ve been soaking up so far. But don’t worry, these last moments on tour in Brazil will be filled with great food, good vibes and a few more memories to add to the photo album (hope your phone still has room...) We'll explore cool neighbourhoods and, of course, shop for some last-minute souvenirs in the local markets. São Paulo is the perfect place to finish this Brazil Experience, with rooftop bars and 10/10 street food.
