What vaccinations are required for New Zealand?

There are no mandatory vaccinations for most travellers. We always recommend speaking to your local doctors. We're not medically trained, so we can't give official advice on vaccines you need/don't need.

What’s New Zealand’s weather like?

New Zealand's seasons vary alot so it is important to do some research before you book your trip.

Summer (December - February): This is the best for those wanting a warm, outdoor adventure. Weather: Warm, sunny, and perfect for exploring, with temperatures between 20–25°C.

Autumn (March - May): This is the best time for scenic drives & wine country. Weather: mild, 15–20 °C, fewer crowds.

Winter (June - August): This is the best for skiing & snow adventures.

Spring (September - November): The best time for flowers and amazing wildlife.

When’s the best time to visit New Zealand?

The truth is, it depends on what kind of adventure you’re after. There is alot to consider when trying to find the best time to visit New Zealand. The seasons in New Zealand make it a unique experience whenever you go. You can get beaches and warm hikes in summer, ski slopes and cosy nights in winter, but it is important to do your research to make sure that the seasons suit the sort of backpacking experience you want. No matter when you go, New Zealand will become one of your favourite destinations on the planet; the views are unreal, the food scene is incredible, and the nature is just 10/10 everywhere you go.

Is there a tipping culture in New Zealand?

It’s not expected in New Zealand to tip service providers, but as with everywhere if you do experience outstanding service, then it’s good to do so. Such service would only usually be in places like quality restaurants and it would be very rare that you would tip more than 10%. Unless specifically asked to do so at the time (by your CEO), do not tip your local guides.

Are there ATMS in New Zealand?
