Itinerary
welcome to the galapagos islands!
Touchdown in San Cristóbal! Are you ready for 7 days of island hopping, nature watching, and sunset chasing? We're starting in San Cristobal, take your time taking in all the views and exploring the island or just chilling on the beach. We will meet in the evening for our welcome meal and get to know each other. It's going to be an amazing 7 days!
Please note: You will have to pay a $200 USD entrance fee to the Galapagos National Park. Additionally, all tourists must purchase a $20 USD Galapagos Transit Control Card. Your Tru Leader will be able to give you more information on this closer to your tour. These costs are not included in the price of the tour. beach time & tjeretas snorkelling
Good morning! Have a chilled start to the day, head to the beach, have a swim or explore some of the local town. In the afternoon, we'll head over to the San Cristobal Interpretative Centre to learn about the island's natural and cultural history. After we'll head towards Cerro Tijeretas for some snorkelling, this is the first time we'll be in the water, and if we're lucky, we'll be swimming alongside some of the playful sea lions (that are the stars of the show here), sea turtles, rays, and tropical fish! This evening, we'll meet at Punta Carola to watch the sunset all together, grab a chair, order a cocktail and toast to our first full day in this stunning place!
charles darwin research station & isabela
We're swapping islands today! First up, we'll travel from San Cristóbal to Santa Cruz by boat. When we arrive, we'll visit the Charles Darwin Research Station. Here we get to learn about the history of the islands and the native plants and wildlife, including the Galapagos land iguana and the Galapagos giant tortoise, which is the largest species of tortoise on Earth. Here we can also see the Galapagos giant tortoise at all their different life stages, from unhatched eggs to fully grown adults. Thanks to initiatives run on the island, there are now around 20,000 Galapagos Tortoises compared to only 3000 in the 1970s! After we have learnt alot and had some lunch too, we'll head to Isabela, our next magical island!
snorkeling at concha perla
Today is all about snorkelling! This morning, you'll have some free time to spend as you wish. There are lots of optional things to do, and your tour guide will have loads of suggestions. We'll meet up in the afternoon and travel to Concha Perla (aka Pearl Shell) for an afternoon of snorkelling! Fingers crossed we see sea lions, turtles, rays and more! After a lovely day, we'll head out for dinner and share all the GoPro footage we have collected today.
sierra negra viewpoint & santa cruz island
We're up and out early this morning and hiking up to one of the most magical viewpoints in Ecuador. We'll walk up to the Sierra Negra viewpoint. From the top, we'll be overlooking one of the largest active volcanic calderas in the world; it is amazing and so worth the walk! Once we are back down, we'll grab some lunch, and then we're off to our final island of the trip, Santa Cruz!
giant tortoises, lava tunnels & coffee farm
Today we are heading to a ranch! Get ready for good views, great food and SO many animals! We'll start our time at the ranch with a visit to the giant tortoises. These guys and gals are EVEN bigger than you can imagine. Then it's time to explore the lava tunnels, which have been naturally formed by the molten lava that cools and solidifies.
chilled checkout
The time has sadly come to say goodbye to this paradise! Take your last photos, hug your new besties and make the most of the final day here in the Galapagos! It's been a dream!
