You've arrived in the land of Pho, insane views and egg coffee (plus so much more!) Get to the hostel, unpack, meet up with your Tru leader and start to explore! This evening we'll head out for our first group meal, get to know each other and hear about everything we have to look forward to in the next 12 days.

Our first full day in Vietnam! Head out for breakfast and fuel up ready for a walking tour around this amazing city. We'll end our tour in a local cafe where we will try our hand at making Egg Coffee. It tastes better than it sounds we promise! In the afternoon, we'll have some free time to explore Hanoi and your Tru leader will have plenty of options for you to choose from. This evening we're heading to Beer Street to kick off this Vietnamese backpacking trip in style!

This morning we are travelling over to the beautiful Cát Bà! Once we've checked into our hostel, we'll head out on our Lan Ha Bay day cruise. The views throughout this day trip are insane, and whether you spend it kayaking, swimming, or just relaxing on board, it'll be something special. We'll also enjoy a delicious lunch on board. Good food with an amazing view = the dream day! In the evening, we'll head back to the hostel and experience the nightlife in Cát Bà.

How was Cát Bà? Beautiful, isn’t it? We'll head back into Hanoi and tick off the final things on our bucket list. From café hopping to walking around the local parks, there's plenty left to do! We'll also stock up on snacks ready for the overnight train this evening, we're zooming down to Hue overnight!

How did you sleep? Ready to stretch those legs? We’ll take a little walk down to the hostel. Hue is bursting with royal history and ancient architecture. We'll visit the Imperial Palace and soak in the local history. This afternoon, you have some free time to explore more of the area before we head for another great night out!

This morning we are heading to Hoi An, famous for tailors, lanterns and just being SO insta perfect! We'll check in and head out for a stroll around the old town! So many sights to see and photo-worthy spots to capture. Visiting the city of lanterns without making one? No way! We're doing it the Tru way! Yes, we're making our very own lanterns today! In the afternoon, you have some time to spend as you please, got your eye on a new outfit? Head to the tailors? Want to people-watch? Head to a cafe. Feeling a little stiff? Have a massage! Hoi An is your Oyster!

We're jumping on bikes today and heading to the countryside! Pedal through the charming streets of Hoi An, soaking in the peaceful vibes. A perfect way to experience the local area. After a local day exploring we'll head to get some more journey snacks cause tonight we're jumping on another overnight train over to Nha Trang.

We’ve arrived in sunny Nha Trang! If you've been craving a beach - you'll enjoy today! We'll take a short walk to the hostel and grab some delicious local breakfast along the way! Ready for a beach day in Nha Trang? Grab your swimsuit, your beach towel, and soak up the sun, this is what living the dream looks like! Pina Colada anyone?

After a relaxing day in Nha Trang it's full steam ahead to Mui Ne! We'll grab some breakfast and jump on a bus headed for Mui Ne! Our hostel here is super cool, beer pong? Check! Pool? Check! Good vibes? Check!

Morning! Head out for some breakfast and get ready for a day exploring Mui Ne! We'll go on a walking tour to explore the area and then if you fancy it we can head for a trip to the Fairy Stream (IYKYK) and sandboarding!

We're heading to our final stop...Ho Chi Minh! This city is amazing and we'll go for a wander to get our bearings. Along the way we can grab a coffee, Pho or another Banh Mi! We'll pass landmarks such as the incredible Independence Palace, before continuing on to the Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon and the Saigon Central Post Office.

This morning we'll check out and head off on our next adventure. The past 12 days have FLOWN by, we can't believe it's over! There's plenty more to do in this city, so get your Tru Leader to point out the best spots.

The accommodation for this trip is dormitories. These dorms may be mixed-sex and may also have 'non-TruTravellers' in them. If you would like private dorms/twin share accommodation, our Classic Style might be more up your street.

Do many TruTravellers travel alone?
Yes, the majority of our travellers will be travelling on their own! Roughly 65% of our TruTravellers come solo! We have designed our trips specifically with solo travellers in mind, so you can be assured you’ll meet lots of others travelling alone like yourself along the way. This of course doesn’t mean our trips are only for solo travellers, but it does mean that you don’t need to worry you’ll be surrounded by a group that already knows each other.
What time shall I arrive on day 1?
You can arrive any time on Day 1 of the tour. There are no scheduled activities during Day 1 on our tours but there will be a welcome meal with the group at around 7 pm. During this first evening, your guide will give you a run-down on the trip, you'll get to meet all the group and of course, you'll do some icebreakers to get to know each other a bit better!
