welcome to the philippines
Touch down in Manila! Welcome to the trip of dreams. Get ready for 11 days of island hopping and good vibes. Make your way to the hostel, meet your Tru Leader and the rest of the group. Tonight we'll head out for a welcome dinner and get to know each other a bit more.
travel to puerto princesa
It's an early start today, but it's so worth it! We'll catch a flight over to Puerto Princesa and arrive around midday. Once we have checked into our hostel, you can spend the afternoon as you please. We have a busy day tomorrow, so we'll fuel up with good local food and rest up after an early start this morning.

Are you ready for a day exploring this incredible island? We're starting with the Palawan Butterfly Garden and Tribal Village, followed by Binuatan Creations this morning. This afternoon, we'll learn more about the local Filipino culture at the Palawan Heritage Centre. To finish off this day, we'll walk along the Baywalk and enjoy the sunset with a beer in hand!

We're up and out this morning, ready to travel to our next spot: Port Barton. We'll arrive in the afternoon and spend the day relaxing on the beach, playing volleyball, or finding the perfect spot for a beer with a view. In the evening, we'll meet for a group meal and get ready for a busy day tomorrow.

Today is super special! We're spending the whole day in the famous waters of Port Barton. We'll jump aboard our island-hopping adventure in the morning and spend the day exploring the best reefs and islands. We're stopping at Starfish Island, Maxima Island, Fantastic Reef and Twin Reef, to name a few! This evening we'll spend sharing photos from this incredible day.

El Nido, here we come! El Nido is a Tru favourite and we cannot wait to show you around! We'll arrive in the early afternoon and spend the rest of the day exploring and visiting the best beaches. El Nido is famous for its stunning landscapes and insane coral reefs, it's also got some great bars so we'll check them out in the evening too!

Did someone say more island hopping? Yes please! We're spending the whole of the afternoon searching for Nemo and Dory as we island hop around paradise. We'll have a local lunch halfway through to fuel us up for even more swimming and snorkelling.
ziplining and beach day
Today we're getting our adrenaline pumpingggg! We're ziplining across islands and seeing El Nido's amazing beaches from the sky - epic, right? After an incredible morning cosplaying as Superman, we're spending the afternoon relaxing on the beach and enjoying our last moments on El Nido.
travel to coron
We couldn't come to the Philippines and not visit the spot famous for crystal clear lagoons and coral reef shipwrecks (yes, they are just as incredible as they sound!) We'll have a travel day over to Coron today and arrive in the late afternoon, unpack and head out for dinner.
coron island hopping
Our final full day on tour calls for one thing - one last island-hopping adventure! Coron has so many must-visit spots, so we'll make sure we tick them all off. We'll visit Baracuda Lake, Twin Lagoon, Atawayan Beach and Kayangan Lake. The dream last full day on tour!

Why is there an age limit on Backpacker tours?
These trips are aimed at first-time travellers aged between 18-29. The Backpacker range offers shared hostels, authentic local experiences and more free time to explore and has been designed specifically for those aged 18-29.
Don't worry if this isn't you - our incredible Classic, Flashpacker, Limited Edition, Multi-country and Ski tours are open to everyone under 45! There's a perfect style of tour for everyone.
Where does the trip start & finish?
The trip starts in Manila and finishes in Coron
Which airport do I need to fly into?
You will need to fly into Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MIA)
What is the closest airport to the end destination?
The closest airport to Coron is Francisco B. Reyes Airport, commonly known as Coron Airport or Busuanga Airport. It is a 30 minute drive from Coron Island town proper. From here you can catch internal flights to Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB), or Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila to fly internationally.
What kind of accommodation is included on this trip?
The accommodation for this trip is in dormitories. These dorms may be mixed-sex and may also have 'non-TruTravellers' in them. If you would like private dorms/twin share accommodation, our Classic Style might be more up your street.
Is my arrival transfer included? Or how do I get to the start location?
The airport pick-up is not be included. However, you can book a transfer up to 30 days before your tour, in one of two ways:

Yep! You will never lose your money. You’re protected. TruTravels is both ABTA and ATOL registered meaning your money is safe.
Do you have age limits for your tours?
Most of the people that join us on tour are 18-thirtysomethings! We do have an upper age limit of 45 on our tours. If you are over 45 and have travelled with us before please contact our sales team at info@trutravels.com.
Our Backpacker trips are exclusively built for travellers aged 18-29! Don't worry if this isn't you - our incredible Classic, Flashpacker, Limited Edition, Multi-country and Ski tours are open to everyone under 45! There's a perfect style of tour for everyone - happy browsing!
Can you cater for my dietary requirements on this trip?
Yes! Let us know when you are booking your trip about any requirements you might have we can plan ahead and make sure this doesn’t affect your trip!
Do many TruTravellers travel alone?
Yes, the majority of our travellers will be travelling on their own! Roughly 65% of our TruTravellers come solo! We have designed our trips specifically with solo travellers in mind, so you can be assured you’ll meet lots of others travelling alone like yourself along the way. This of course doesn’t mean our trips are only for solo travellers, but it does mean that you don’t need to worry you’ll be surrounded by a group that already knows each other.
Will I be able to contact/meet people before the tour starts?
Yes, of course! You will receive a welcome email from your tour leader a week before your tour starts. This will include a QR code to join the group chat on WhatsApp and other important information before joining. In the meantime, you can join our Facebook group TruTravellers to connect with others.
Are TruTravels tours drinking and party-oriented?
No! Whether you love a sunset beer or prefer an early night in order to make the most out of every day, or even a bit of both, it's up to you how you spend your time on tour! Our guides are always on hand to suggest a range of evening activities on tour. From night markets to rooftop bars, fire shows and local cultural experiences, there's a huge variety of options! There's no pressure, ever - it's your adventure after all!
