Your Inca adventure starts today! Arrive any time into Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima, where one of our awesome group leaders will collect you and take you to our start hotel. Get to know your new travel buddies over what we all love...food! Dive into the local cuisines and try Chupe de Camarones (traditional soup made from crayfish and chillis) or Pollo a la Brasa (a classic Peruvian rotisserie which is full of punching flavour!)

Sitting within a valley, surrounded by desert is the capital of Peru, Lima. Wander around the ancient city taking in its rich history & colourful street art, tasting delicious Peruvian cuisine and exploring the city’s highlights and coastal viewpoints.
In the early afternoon, catch a short 1-hour flight to Cusco City and check in to our hotel. Set high in the Peruvian Andes, Cusco is a city rich with a mix of Incan and Spanish influences. Take in the heritage on a city orientation of the former capital of the Incan empire and the gateway to Machu Picchu. We spend the evening hitting up Cusco’s lively nightlife and dancing the night away at a Salsa Bar.
After breakfast, we’ll dive into the true Peruvian culture and take a walking tour around ancient Cusco City, learning about its fascinating history and culture. We’ll get our taste buds tingling as we sample the local food around the markets as well as checking out the creative craft stalls. After a fun-filled morning, we head over to the ancient Inca and Spanish site and marvel over the stones of the Incan wall complex, of Sacsayhuamán. Finish off the day reminiscing about today's events at a coffee bar overlooking Cusco City Square watching the world go by.
Rise and Shine! An early start this morning, but trust us when we say, it’s going to be well worth it. Catch up on your sleep on the 3(ish) hour bus journey before we arrive at the impressive Lake Humantay, also known as Laguna Humatay by the locals. Located over 4000 metres up in the Andes, it’s regarded as a sacred and spiritual area to the Incas. Spend the full day trekking taking in the majestic scenery, snow-capped mountains, lush green landscapes and the stunning turquoise coloured lake. Take a dip in the glacier lake, if you’re brave enough! Known as one of the best things to do in Peru, today will be a truly unforgettable experience.
You’ll get to experience another dose of Peru’s beautiful landscapes today as we stop off at the sites of Maras Salt Mines and Moray Ancient site on the way to the picturesque small town of Ollantaytambo. Enjoying learning about the 500-year-old ancient process of salt mining, and marvel at the mines dug into the mountainside - it’s a lot more interesting when you learn from the locals ;)
Take in the series of circular Andean paths at the outstanding archaeological Moray Ancient site. Before we arrive in Ollantaytambo, we stop off to recharge at a small local brewery where you can choose to sample some home-brewed beers. We arrive in Ollantaytambo, a small town in the northern end of the Sacred Valley, check in to our hotel and spend the evening relaxing before our big hike ahead!
Today we leave Ollantaytambo Lodge behind, to board the Inca Trail Train to Km 104, 12 kilometres before Machu Picchu. Gaze out the window and take in the views of the Urubamba river, snowy mountains and small villages before we disembark at Km 104 to start the famous one day Inca Trail hike. Take in the spectacular views and ancient sites along the way to the grand entrance of the jaw-dropping Machu Picchu city, Sun Gate. Don't worry we have your Inca Trail permit sorted so ensure your travels are stress-free so you can have the time of your life.
Just as you thought your Peru trip couldn’t get any better, prepare for a day you’ll cherish forever. We’ll hop on a bus up the winding, scenic road to the entrance of the Incan citadel Machu Picchu, the most famous (and best) archaeological site in South America. We spend the day taking a leisurely guided walk around the incredible ancient ruins, surrounded by lush vegetation high in the Andes Mountains. This world heritage site is definitely an Insta-worthy hot spot! After our day of exploring, we travel back to Cusco City to check back into our hotel and enjoy sharing your snaps from today with your travel buddies.
Another day, another experience to tick off on your South America travels. It’s time to get your adrenaline pumping as we head off to go white water rafting on grade 2 & 3 rapids on the Urubamba River! After a splashing start to the day, we’ll get ready to head out this evening for a final dinner & drinks in Cusco City. Get your dancing shoes on and make the most of your last experience on your Peru tour.
It’s time to say Adiós as it’s checkout day today. Your group leader is on hand to help you with your onward travel wherever you are going. After 9 days of making life-long friends, make sure you stay in touch with your buddies and plan your reunion trip together - Colombia anyone?
