TRANSPORT

Morocco's cities are best explored on foot through the winding medinas. On our tours, all transport is taken care of so you can focus on exploring, not the logistics!

CUISINE & FOOD

You have to try a proper tagine, couscous with seven vegetables, pastilla, and harira soup. Don't leave without eating your body weight in fresh bread with olive oil and argan honey. Mint tea is a ritual here — always accept when it's offered.

VISA ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Many nationalities can enter Morocco visa-free for up to 90 days, but this depends on your passport. Entry requirements vary, so always check with your government's official travel website before you go and make sure your passport has at least 6 months' validity remaining!

FAQS

When is the best time to travel to Morocco?

The best time to visit Morocco is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). During these months, temperatures are warm but comfortable, making it perfect for exploring cities, the desert, and the mountains. Summer can be extremely hot, especially in the Sahara, while winter brings cooler temperatures and even snow in the Atlas Mountains. Morocco is a year-round destination though – it just depends on the kind of experience you’re looking for.

Is Morocco expensive to visit?

Morocco can be a very affordable destination. Accommodation, food, and transport are generally budget-friendly, especially if you’re eating local and staying in riads or hostels. Group tours are also a great option, as they cover accommodation, transport, and activities upfront, helping you manage costs while you’re travelling.

How much time should I spend in Morocco?

We’d recommend 8-10 days to really experience Morocco. This gives you enough time to explore Marrakech, visit the Sahara Desert, and experience the mountains.

Do I need a visa to visit Morocco?

It’s always worth checking your government’s official advice, but many nationalities do not need a visa for short stays in Morocco.

What vaccinations are required for Morocco?

There are no mandatory vaccinations for most travellers. We always recommend speaking to your local doctors. We're not medically trained, so we can't give official advice on vaccines you need/don't need.

Are there ATMs in Morocco?

Yes! Visa and Mastercard are usually accepted (especially at bank ATMs), but cash is still king, especially at markets and local stalls. Your Tru Leader will be able to help you with finding the best atms with the lowest charges.

What languages are spoken in Morocco?

Arabic and Amazigh (Berber) are the official languages of Morocco. French is widely spoken, and English is becoming more common, especially in tourist areas. Learning a few basic Arabic or French phrases will definitely impress the locals.

Can you drink tap water in Morocco?

No, tap water is not safe to drink. Stick with bottled or filtered water. Ice in larger city hotels and restaurants is often from purified sources, but it’s safest to ask or stick to bottled if you’re unsure.

Is Morocco safe?

Yes, Morocco is considered safe for travellers, particularly in popular tourist destinations. Like anywhere, it’s important to stay aware of your surroundings. Travelling with a local guide is a great way to feel confident while discovering Morocco’s highlights and hidden gems with your Tru Leader.
