One of the most beautiful countries in South East Asia, Vietnam is a country on the move both metaphorically and literally. Their culture is a complex adaptation of Chinese, Japanese, French and American colonial influences. Less than forty years since the violence of the American War, this spirited nation is full of hope and rebuilding their growing and ever thriving country with buoyant energy once more.
Roads have been upgraded, tourism is booming and the boisterous Vietnamese spirit is alive. In the north, Vietnam shares its border with China, to the west are Cambodia and Laos, and to the south and east is nothing but loooong stretches of coastline. Vietnam is a phoenix arisen and although the war has left its scars, today Vietnam is a far cry from what it was. Now lush paddy fields, powder white beaches, tailoring and respected pagodas draw the crowds to this bustling and infectious country. The video below shows just a few of the many awesome places to see and things to do in Vietnam.
Backpacking Vietnam Made Easy
We have spent years travelling/backpacking Vietnam from top to bottom and as always have used our combined experience and spent many hours researching, discussing and thinking to ensure we produce the best possible trip for our TruTravellers. Vietnam is home to some of the friendliest people in the world so what better way to travel than in a group of fun loving individuals whilst experiencing their incredible culture.
As Vietnam is such a long, thin country, people tend to do it all in one go either from top to bottom or bottom to top so we thought that rather than several short trips, the best way to travel Vietnam would be to do it in one big trip from Ho Chi Minh City all the way up to Hanoi and Halong Bay. As with all of our other trips we have taken all the hassle out of the experience and injected maximum fun, so you just need to rock up and have an awesome time, as all your transport, accommodation and activities are organised for you.
This section details the variety of breathtaking places that are part of our 17 Day Vietnam Explorer group travel adventure. And yes, you will be able to experience them all!
