TURTLE VOLUNTEER PROJECT
An incredible once in a lifetime experience as we head to a remote village in West Sumatra where we spend our day volunteering at a local turtle conservation. We'll learn the importance of the protection of these majestic animals and how they'll thrive in the natural untouched waters of Sumatra.
LOCAL COOKING CLASS
After an accidental meeting on a rainy day in Bali we met Wayan's family and ever since they have been teaching our TruFam how to master the art of cooking up traditional Indonesian cuisine in their family home. We’ve worked with the family for years, and they only take us to the best markets to get the local ingredients. We spend the day checking out the markets and visiting the insta worthy rice paddies. Because really have you even been to Bali if you didn’t get a pic at the rice paddies?

(Make sure you pack something to cover your shoulders) We’ll make our way to the Royal Temple of Taman Ayun! It translates as ‘beautiful garden’ and it’s easy to see why. It's filled with gorgeous architecture, ponds full of exotic fish and lush greenery. Then we’ll head over to Tanah Lot, which is set on a rock formation and is so fun to explore. Time for a Tru-ly unforgettable day (see what we did there?) with a Tru Exclusive. Gordon Ramsey and Jamie Oliver haven’t got sh*t on you after you’ve taken part in a traditional Indonesian cooking class! We’ll start by having breakfast, before having a sneak peek at the freshest ingredients at the local markets. Then we’ll join the amazing Wayan and learn how to cook some of Bali’s famous dishes, as well as Canang Sari, the flower offerings made for the God. Obviously you’ll then get to eat all of the delicious food you’ve made today. Once our bellies are literally at capacity of how much Balinese food we can stuff ourselves with, we’re going to walk it off at the famous, sacred Monkey Forest. Make sure you don’t have sunglasses on your head, headphones in, designer bags, or dangling necklaces because these literal cheeky monkeys will nick whatever you have to hand. That Louis Vuitton cross body bag you have? Yeah, don’t bring that. But it’s a bucket list moment, it’s believed the hundreds of monkeys protect the temples inside, they mean a lot to the Balinese people. was SENSATIONAL! Alex was an awesome guide nd we had so much fun. From bike rides and hikes round Lake Bled in Slovenia to relaxing spa days in Budapest, a gondola ride in Venice and Cocktails on the rooftop bars outside the Duomo in Milan and nightlife in the ruin bars in Budapest. Even the rain didn’t put us off in Austria, we had a lot of fun and saw some incredible sights. Will definitely be returning to Lake Bled.
